Professor Dr. Phra Dharmakosajarn

The Most Venerable Professor Dr. Phra Dharmakosajarn is currently Rector of Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University (MCU), Ecclesiastical Governor of Region II, Chief Abbot of Wat Prayurawongsawat in Bangkok, and a member of the Secretariat to the Executive Committee for the Supreme Patriarch of Thailand. He was born on September 17th, 1955, in Suphan Buri Province, and entered the     monastic life as a novice at the age of 12. In 1976, while still a novice, he completed the highest degree of traditional Pali Studies in Thailand, Pali Grade IX.

   Prayoon Bhadakharn Museum  
This museum is located in the Barindra Pariyattidharma Sala, and exhibits the Buddha statues and amulets that were discovered in the inner sanctum of the Phra Borom That Maha Chedi or the Great Pagoda together with the Buddha relics.
Barindra Pariyattidharma Sala
This is a single-storeyed building with beautiful stained-glass windows in European style.   It was bulit by Chao Phraya Phasakonwong (Phon Bunnak) in 1885, extending from the front annex of the Great Pagoda, who dedicated its merit to his mother " LUK IN " and his father Somdet Chao Phraya Borom Maha Prayurawong.

 The Replica Mountain (Turtle Mountain)


 
This replica mountain, situated in the middle of a pond at the front of the monastery, was built by Somdet Chao Phraya Borom Maha Prayurawong (Dit Bunna), who got the idea from the sight of dripping candle-wax which he received from     the King Rama III. It is one of the most interesting objects in the monastery.
